UWiC Lab
The laboratory
The UWiC Lab was created at the University of Urbino in June 2006 to develop the wireless campus. The facility provides the project team with the necessary tools to analyze problems related to the project, develop and test technical solutions to those problems to asses their reliability and scalability, define the specifications of the system and take part in setting up the network.
The UWiC Lab is considered a permanent research and teaching laboratory in the field of wireless networks and their related services. The main aim of the laboratory is to develop innovative technical solutions and network integration patterns as well as services to be tested in the wireless campus. The specialized skills and innovations developed in the lab are available to the project partners.
The laboratory is housed in the Collegio Raffaello building at 13 Piazza della Reppublica in Urbino.
Project team
The project team was officially formed on June 19, 2006. The team is coordinated by Professor Alessandro Bogliolo and is made up of personnel from Ce.S.I. (Computer Services Center), outside consultants, students from the degree programs in Applied Computer Science and Economics and interns from the IFTS post secondary course for the training of Expert Technicians in Wireless Technologies. The team’s headquarters is the UWiC laboratory, set up in June 2006 in the Collegio Raffaello building at 13 Piazza della Repubblica in Urbino. The team has the task of analyzing critical aspects of the poject, developing and testing practical solutions to asses their reliability and scalability, taking part in the set up of the wireless campus and providing technical support to partners.
